Life in Full Bloom: Five Things I’m Doing to Change My Life
I don’t remember where I got the mug that says “live life in full bloom,” but there’s something about that saying that has stuck with me for years. It’s the basis of this blog and my life—to live life in full bloom. I understand sometimes it’s difficult to feel the flavor notes of life, to embrace a wellness lifestyle, to find joy in the chaos that is life. Yes, it’s difficult, but not impossible, and I’m really trying to go forward with a more positive mindset and a happier outlook. Less procrastination, more doing. This is my beginning.
Here are the five things I’m doing to be able to fulfill my Solstice Dream Map:
- I no longer complain about my job or a situation. I’ve embraced waitressing as not only fast cash, but a place to learn, to hear people’s stories, to be of service. My mindset is one of complete positivity, even on bad days. I work through it, and I’m coming out stronger for it.
- I plan my weeks, write down my goals, and I’ve stopped procrastinating. I no longer make excuses.
- I am in control of my food. I log my food daily on my LoseIt app, and I weigh in once a week. I eat 80/20, allowing all foods in moderation. I keep my calories under 1,650.
- I look at problems (household and money) not as catastrophic, but I look at them like puzzles with solutions.
- This may sound little, but I keep a clean sink with no dirty dishes. It’s so much easier to handle my life, my waitress shifts, my creative endeavors, and work on my Solstice Dream Map when I wake up and my kitchen is orderly.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about blooming, slowly, steadily, intentionally. And this… this is the season I choose to bloom, no matter what.
