Born on the winter solstice, Rose has a rich background in dance. In 2013, she danced in a Richard Simmons video and ran the weight-loss blog www.mychangeforaten.com, raising funds for charity with every ten pounds she lost.
A poet and writer, Rose has been published in magazines such as The Houston Chronicle, VegNews Magazine, Texas Highways Magazine, Cleveland Magazine, Om Yoga Magazine, and West Hollywood Magazine. She is also a passionate vegan wellness advocate and philanthropist, dedicated to spreading positivity and wellness.
Rose has several exciting projects in the works, including her upcoming children’s book Cosmo’s Funtastic Funraiser, inspired by her rescue cat; her reflective memoir Beyond the Apron Strings; her next poetry collection Dragonfly on My Hand; and Dangerously Optimistic, a television script in development with her UK-based writing partner, John Mangan.
In 2020, she founded Letters From Uncle Louie, a Facebook group sending uplifting letters to seniors in assisted living homes. Rose is currently pursuing certifications for group fitness and Zumba, inspired by the joyful teachings of Richard Simmons and Melissa Bender Fitness.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Rose has lived in Pittsburgh, Connecticut, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Houston, each city adding new dimension to her writing. Her diverse experiences have shaped the soulful storytelling and vibrant voice that run through all of her work.
Rose also has a deep history in the restaurant industry, where she spent years waitressing, drawing inspiration from her mother’s legacy. This experience informs her storytelling, with themes of service, food, and human connection woven throughout her writing and blog.
When she’s not writing, Rose enjoys nature, health, and balanced living, and she actively gives back to her community. She shares her life with her husband James, and their three beloved cats: Spanky, Max, and rescue muse Cosmo.
