Rose Bruno Bailey is an author, poet, writer, and wellness advocate. Through her blog, JuiceJavaJoy, she explores creativity, resilience, personal growth, and the beauty found in everyday life.
Her published works include the poetry collection Camellia in Snow and the children’s book Maew’s Home Journey. Her writing has also appeared in The Houston Chronicle, VegNews Magazine, Texas Highways Magazine, Cleveland Magazine, Om Yoga Magazine, West Hollywood Magazine, and other regional and national publications.
Born on the winter solstice and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Rose has spent a lifetime pursuing both creative expression and personal transformation. In 2013, she appeared in a Richard Simmons fitness video and ran the weight-loss blog My Change for a Ten, raising money for charity with every ten pounds she lost.
Rose is certified as a Group Exercise Instructor through ISSA and is currently pursuing additional certifications in Zumba and continuing fitness education. Inspired by the joyful teachings of Richard Simmons and Melissa Bender Fitness, she is passionate about helping others discover wellness through movement, positivity, and self-care.
In 2020, she founded Letters From Uncle Louie, a Facebook community dedicated to sending uplifting letters to seniors in assisted living facilities. Her commitment to service and encouragement continues to influence both her writing and wellness work.
Rose is currently working on several projects, including the children’s book Cosmo’s Funtastic Funraiser, inspired by her rescue cat; the memoir Beyond the Apron Strings; the poetry collection Dragonfly on My Hand; the television script Dangerously Optimistic, co-written with UK-based writer John Mangan; and several novels.
Having lived in Pittsburgh, Connecticut, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Houston, Rose draws inspiration from the people, places, and experiences that have shaped her journey. She also spent many years in the restaurant industry, where stories of food, service, family, and human connection became an enduring influence on her work.
Rose lives in Houston with her husband, James, and their three beloved cats: Spanky, Max, and Cosmo.
